The Terry Fox Research Institute recognizes your right to privacy and pledges to protect it. The Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) is aware of our responsibilities under the federal Personal Information and Electronics Documents Act (PIPEDA).

When visiting our web site, our web server automatically logs (records) domain name and standard information about the operating system and web browser you are using, as provided by your web browser. This information is used for statistical purposes to help us manage our site, but it does not identify you in any way.

We collect personal information about you only if you volunteer it – through a registration or donation made online. (For the latter, all online donations are currently made directly through the Terry Fox Foundation web site.)

The information collected is used to send you receipts, to allow you to log in, to contact you for support purposes, and/ or to answer questions you submit to the site(s). All information is kept confidential.

In the case of registering online for our Annual Scientific Meeting, this information is stored within an internal database that is used for the research institute’s purposes only. In making payment for your registration for this meeting, you are forwarded to the Terry Fox Foundation web site to make a secure payment with your registration.

The Terry Fox Foundation uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure the integrity and privacy of the personal and credit card information you provide when you make an online donation, or make a purchase. During the online process, you will be forwarded to a Moneris payment page where, for purposes of billing, you will need to provide your credit card type, number, and expiration date.  For security purposes you may also need to provide the billing address for the card. If your order is to be shipped, the name, address and phone number of the intended recipient(s) may also be needed.  Your credit card information is used only for donations and purchases of products from the Terry Fox Foundation and will not be used for any other purpose.  We do not retain any information about your credit card after you make an online payment.

Both TFF and/or TFRI maintain records of all contributions and/or payments made. All information is kept private and confidential, stored in a secure location and accessible only by authorized staff.
